Making a Difference,
One Thread at a Time.
From the raw material to whatever comes next.
Every Thread Project garment and bag begins long before it reaches a print shop.
It starts with materials. Moves through the hands of people who make it. Becomes a canvas for a printer, a business, a club or an artist. Then gets used, and used again.
Our responsibility runs through that journey: understanding where our products come from, how people are treated, how resources are used and what happens when the products are no longer needed.
This page brings together what we know, the work our manufacturing partners report and the areas where we need more information.
1.
Start with the source.
Better decisions begin before a product is made.
Cotton is central to our apparel range and is also used in parts of our bag range. Understanding the materials behind each product means looking beyond the finished item.
That includes where fibres come from, how they are sourced and what supporting information is available.
Cotton sourcing.
We are gathering more detailed sourcing information from our manufacturing partners, including the cotton used in our apparel and bags.
Better Cotton Initiative.
2.
Know the people behind the product
Made by people, not factories.
Different partners. A clear picture of each.
Our apparel and bags come through different manufacturing partners. Each has its own production processes, people and supporting information.
We describe them separately so customers can understand which information applies to which products.

2.
Built to Last
The most sustainable garment is
the one that doesn’t need replacing.
Thread Project garments are engineered for longevity, longer-staple cotton yarns, tighter knitting, improved patternmaking, and a stronger construction throughout.
The result is apparel that sheds less, holds colour better, resists shrinkage, and stands up to repeated washing and wear.
- For decorators
that means fewer seconds and better print outcomes. - For wearers
it means tees that age well and stay in rotation longer. - For the planet
it means less waste over time.
3.
Built for the Makers
Where ideas become something real.
A blank garment isn't the end of the process, it's the beginning of somebody else's.
The decorator, the printer, the fundraiser, the local club, the café, the brewery., the business, the artist.
Every Thread Project garment leaves our factory unfinished, because its real story starts when someone makes it their own.
4.
Circularity
The story doesn't end here.
Even the best garments eventually reach the end of their first life, that doesn't mean they stop being useful.
Through our partnership with Impactex, worn garments can become acoustic panels, insulation and industrial materials instead of landfill.
Because every thread deserves another chapter.
